Caring For Romero's Relics
Since 2006, on behalf of the Romero Trust our Trustee Dr Jan Grafius has been instrumental in cataloguing, repairing and preserving the relics of Archbishop Romero, as well as those of other martyrs of El Salvador. Jan is Curator of Collections and Historic Libraries at Stonyhurst College.
Detailing some of the work she did to halt the deterioration of the clothes and other relics of Romero, Jan gave the 2013 Romero Lecture entitled "Blood and Sweat: The Witness of Oscar Romero's Relics" which you can watch below.
Jan also provided an address about her work for our celebration of the third anniversary of Oscar Romero's canonisation held in Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral in 2021. Read the text of her presentation here.
