The death, 30th years ago, has been remembered in many places around Britain. The Archbishop of York preached at an ecumencial service in York Minster on 20th March. You can read his sermon on his own website by clicking here.

On the evening of 24th March 2010 Bishop Michael Evans, a trustee of the Archbishop Romero Trust, celebrated a special Mass in Norwich Cathedral as did Archbishop Vincent Nichols in Westminster Cathedral. Click here to read Bishop Michael's homily and here to read Archbishop Nichols'.

On the same day a memorial Mass took place in St. Mary's Cathedral in Edinburgh at which Cardinal Keith O'Brien was the chief celebrant. Click here to read the homily preached by Bishop Maurice Taylor who, at one point, worked in El Salvador.

On 28th March there was a special celebration in Westminster Abbey in the presence of Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O'Connor at which the Archbishop of Canterbury preached. You can read his homily by clicking here
